PILGRIMAGE TOURS

Day 0l : Chennai (Arrival)

On arrival at Chennai airport, you will be met at the airport by NTPL representative who give you a warm welcome with fresh flower garlands and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 : Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mamallapuram (Approx. 145 Kms./ 04 Hrs.) 

After early breakfast drive to Mamallpuram enroute visit to Kanchipuram, on arrival visit Ekambareshwarara temple which has 2500 years old mango tree which still bears fruit. Also visit Vashnavita temple & Vaaradaraja temple and later continue drive to Mamallapuram.  On arrival check-in to the Hotel. 
Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 03 : Mamallapuram – Thiruvanmalai (Approx. 180 Kms/ 04 Hrs.)

Morning after breakfast visit the Shore Temples.  Mamallapuram is a historical retreat set amidst natural beauty lying 58 kms south of Chennai, this ancient seaport of the Pallava dynasty invites connoisseurs of art. Its monuments have been carved out of solid rock. Though ravaged by the sea and wind, it still bears testimony to the magnificent heritage of Dravidian architecture. The glorious Shore Temple, one of the oldest in South India, stands on the sea shore with its paved forecourts. See the great Bas-relief of Arjuna's penance, the five Rathas, the Mahishasura Mardhini, Krishna and the Varaha Mandapas. There is also a school of sculpture which merits a visit. Afternoon drive to Thiruvanmalai . On arrival check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 04 : Thiruvanmalai – Pondichery (Approx. 75 Kms./ 03 Hrs.)

After breakfast visit the temples of Thiruvanamalai.
Afternoong drive to Pondicherry.  On arrival check-in to the Hotel.  Overnight stay at the Hotel. 

Day 05 : Pondicherry

After breakfast, visit The Shri Aurbindo ashram also visit Matri Mandir.Evening meeting with an expert in Integral Yoga. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06 : Pondicherry – Chidambaram – Thanjavur (Approx. 248 Kms./ 07 Hrs.)

Morning after early breakfast drive to Thanjavur enroute visit Chidambaram the Natraja Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva & Thillai Kalimman Temple dedicated to goddess Parvati. It is believed that a trip to Chidambaram is incomplete if both the temples are not visited On arrival  and continue drive to Thanjavur, on arrival check-in the hotel.  Overnight stay at the Hotel. 

Day 07 : Thanjavur – Swamimalai – Thanjavur

Morning after breakfast visit Brihadeshwara Temple and the Fort,  The crowning glory of the Chola Empire. This superb and fascinating monument is one of a handful in India with world heritage listing.Afternoon: Drive to Swamimalai.  This place marks the spot where young Subramanyan explained to Shiva the meaning of 'OM' which precedes every Hindu prayer. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 08 : Thanjavur – Madurai (Approx. 145 Kms/ 05 Hrs.)

After breakfast drive to Madurai.  On arrival check-in to the Hotel.  
Afternoon visit the Meenakshi Temple & Tirrumalai Nayak Palace and Thirumohur.  This place has its legendary origin in the distant past when Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) churned the ocean to get Amritham (nectar). In the evening visit the Meenakshi temple to attend ceremony every evening where the marriage of Meenakshi (Parvati) and Sundareshwara (Lord Shiva) is solemnized. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 09 : Madurai – Rameswaram - Madurai (Approx. 160 Kms/ 04 Hrs. one way)

After early breakfast ensues a full day excursion to Rameswaram.  On the bank of the sea is the point where the bridge to Lanka was built and Lord Rama's army crossed over. Also it is here that Lord Rama established a Lord Shiva Temple. In the evening return to the Madurai. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day l0: Madurai – Kanyakumari (Approx. 235 Kms/ 06 Hrs.)

After early breakfast, drive to Kanyakumari.  On arrival check-in to the Hotel.
Later visit Kumariamman Temple. This temple is dedicated to Virgin Goddess Kanyakumari(Parvati) who stands waiting for her consort Lord Shiva to come and claim her hand in marriage. Visit Vivekananda Memorial and watch the beautiful Sun Set at Cape Camorin which is the confluence of Indian Ocean, Bay Of Bengal, Arabian Sea.  Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 11: Kannyakumari – Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai

After breakfast, visit Suchindram Temple,s dedicated to the deity who is the representation of combined forces of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Also visit Padmanabhapuram Palace. Later drive to Thiruvanthapuram in time to catch the connecting flight to Chennai. On arrival in Chennai You will be met at the airport by NTPL representative who will assist to departure International Airport to connect the your onward journey.
